Zoom Presentation: A Voice Among the Silent: The Legacy of James G. McDonald

James G. McDonald was an unknown hero of the Jewish people. He worked tirelessly to warn the world of the coming danger of the Nazi regime. He went on to save over 2000 Jewish lives. He served as the League of Nations Commissioner for Refugees and as an adviser to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. He then went on to become the first U.S. Ambassador to Israel.

Shuli Eshel is an Israeli filmmaker who lived in Chicago for forty years and now is back in Israel. Her award winning documentary films have been shown in the US, Israel and other countries. She made this film, A Voice Among the Silent: The Legacy of James G. McDonald, to show how one man spoke up and took action when confronted with evil. She says, “We can learn a lot from his activism, experience and foresight.”

Join us as Shuli Eshel introduces her film. There will be a Q & A session after the film.
